If you’re looking for a super formal, buttoned up therapist, that’s not me. I see my clients as equals. From my perspective successful therapy is without power differentials.

With over a decade of experience as a therapist, I know how  life in the Bay Area is fast paced and demanding. There is always something else to focus on instead of your relationship. Kids. Work. Family.

I understand the challenges individuals and families face in today’s fast-paced world. My approach is grounded in empathy, humor, and building strong, collaborative relationships with my clients.

As the founder of Beginner’s Mind Psychotherapy, I specialize in couples therapy, adolescent and family counseling, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I strive to create a space where therapy feels like a partnership: where you feel heard, supported, and free from judgment.

I became a therapist by accident. Thank you to organic chemistry for killing my dreams of becoming a pharmacist. This turned out to be the best thing that could have happened!

As a new therapist I worked primarily with teens, families and young adults. Most of my clients were living with intense, painful emotions that caused suicidal thoughts, addictions, self-harm and challenging relationships. Over time I realized how much I looked forward to helping my clients work on their relationships.

I decided to focus primarily on couples work and have been for the last few years. Using evidence-based modalities such as DBT, the Gottman Method, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, I tailor my approach to meet each client’s unique needs. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your relationship, manage intense emotions, or navigate life transitions, I offer a supportive space to explore, heal, and grow.

Availability: I’m currently welcoming new patients for both virtual sessions and in-person therapy in San Mateo and throughout California. I currently accept new patients virtually and in-person therapy in San Mateo and the Greater California Area.
